Excellence centre network update February 2018

Thursday, 15 February 2018 11:29

Image: Lynn Atkin. We have seen another extremely busy January and early February through the Excellence Centre network. There have been presentations for interested partners looking to join the network and further interest from organisations who have heard or seen the wonderful opportunities being part of the network can bring.

We held our second national meeting at the end of January, where our hosts gathered together in London to form our National Council, discuss the aims for the members and listen to presentations from our two visitors. Laura Whitworth, NHS London Procurement Partnership and Michael Wood, NHS Confederation, both delivered inciteful discussion for our hosts to digest and take back to their excellence centres.

Our future meetings will also include presentations from both excellence centre hosts and external partners alike in an aim to access as much information as possible to disseminate to our hosts.

Quality Mark

Late last year Gemma Wilson, who has worked on the Quality Mark from its inception left the organisation, and the mantle was transferred to myself to coordinate, make the visits and evaluate the outcomes for current and future Quality Marks. We have seen an incredible rise in the numbers of partners wishing to undertake the kite mark and renew their current one.

For those unaware of the Quality Mark, please follow the link for an overview of the process, level of quality assurance it offers to providers and how it ensures providers are all at the same strategic level of quality assurance in their delivery and outcomes; something all providers strive to achieve.

Excellence Centre Launch

We are currently working with three Excellence Centres on their launch. We have, yet only secured a date for the Humber, Coast and Vale on the 17th March, but we are confident that Poole and North East and Cumbria will secure dates very soon. These are exciting events, where we can truly celebrate the success of joining the excellence centre network, but also allow the host to showcase their aim, vision and priorities under the excellence centre banner, with invitations to all partners and stakeholders to spread the word and network to make new professional relationships.
