Image: Helping the local community into employment. The Health Care Works Programme is designed to help local people secure employment within the 5 hospitals of Barts Health NHS Trust and has already improved the lives of hundreds of local people.

Helping the local community access employment and training opportunities within the NHS has also supported the growth of Barts Health’s own talent to fill vacancies and develop a workforce that represents the local community.

On completion of a two week “Healthcare Works- Jobs” training programme candidates (admin and HCA) can access Barts Health internal entry level jobs (bands 2-3) and following the completion of a 6 weeks work placement candidates can then  register with the Staff Bank to get access to temporary jobs.

The positions available through this programme are:

  • Admin/Clerical
  • Health Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant)
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant
  • Pharmacy Assistant
  • Phlebotomist
