The National Skills Academy for Health's Board comprises health sector employers and others who share our vision and passion for developing the skills of the support workforce. Our Board’s remit is to ensure the National Skills Academy for Health is fully able to deliver on its objectives and remains an employer driven organisation in all that it does.
Our board is chaired by Sir Hugh Taylor. Sir Hugh was appointed as Chair of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in February 2011.
Sir Hugh has a long and distinguished career in the civil service which has included senior roles in the Department of Health and NHS Executive, the Cabinet Office and the Home Office. His most recent appointment before joining the Trust was as Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health, from which he retired in July 2010. He is also a Trustee for the Royal College of Physicians, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Nuffield Trust and Cicely Saunders International.
