Our Board

The National Skills Academy for Health's Board comprises health sector employers and others who share our vision and passion for developing the skills of the support workforce. Our Board’s remit is to ensure the National Skills Academy for Health is fully able to deliver on its objectives and remains an employer driven organisation in all that it does.

Board members

Our board is chaired by Julian Hartley. Julian has been Chief Executive of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, one of the largest trusts in the NHS with a budget of over £1 billion and more than 16,000 employees, since October 2013.

Since then he has been spearheading a major culture change which has seen impressive results in terms of staff engagement and morale, and in September 2016 the Trust achieved a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission. He previously worked as Managing Director of NHS Improving Quality - a national organisation set up to drive change and improvement across the NHS.
